How to clean terrazzo floor tiles and maintain
What is Terrazzo Tile?
Terrazzo (also known as millstone) is a product obtained by mixing aggregates such as crushed stone, glass, and quartz stone into a cement binder to make a concrete product, which is then ground and polished. The terrazzo made of cement adhesive is called inorganic grindstone, and the terrazzo made of epoxy adhesive is also called epoxy grindstone or organic grindstone. According to the construction process, the terrazzo is divided into on-site pouring terrazzo and prefabricated terrazzo ground.

However, if it is used for a long time, the stone will be damaged to some extent, so how to solve and maintain the terrazzo?
01. Initial maintenance: thoroughly seal wax
Porous cement ore is sealed with wax from the inside with non-yellow wax material. In the first few months, the floor must be mopped every day to remove minerals from the flat ground; when thoroughly cleaned, it may be necessary to apply wax again.
02. Daily: sweep with a broom, vacuum
or use a treated oil-free mop to remove dust; use synthetic fiber pad polishing (do not use steel wool).
03. Periodically: wet mop or wipe with machine
First wet the ground with clean wet water, use a flexible cleaner, use a mop or vacuum absorbent to scrub and polish at will; use synthetic wax recommended by the supplier of terrazzo.
04. The next day: polishing with a synthetic polishing agent configured for terrazzo

Using this technique, if the maintenance is proper, the ground can be waxed for several years, and the wax can be extended to three years or longer. If the terrazzo floor is seriously damaged, new ground should be spread and the wax should be resealed.
Reminder:
First, steel wool cannot be used, because steel wool shavings may damage or discolor the ground; use a small amount of washing powder if necessary.
Second, do not use alkaline cleaners, which may corrode the ground and cause flaking.
Third, if the paint floor is not completely and properly sealed with wax, the cleaning and disinfectant with a pH value as low as 6.5 will also damage the terrazzo floor.
Fourth, work vehicles and other equipment should pay attention to select appropriate casters to protect the ground.
In addition, the terrazzo floor should also do daily cleaning work, from time to time, use the dust collector and dust pusher to do the dust removal and cleaning work.
It is best to put a dust pad in the entrance of the hall to filter the sand particles brought by the shoes to reduce the wear of the sand particles on the stone surface. Terrazzo floors in public places will inevitably encounter stains such as oil, tea, coffee, cola, ink, etc. These stains can easily penetrate into the stone along the capillary pores, forming annoying stains.
Because none of the protective agents can block pollution 100% for a long time, once a pollution source is poured on the stone, it must be removed immediately to prevent the contamination from penetrating into the pores of the stone.
