Natural slate is primarily composed of minerals such as quartz, sericite, and chlorite. It can be split along its grain into thin sheets
approximately 4-6 mm thick, known as slate roof tiles.

The lifespan of these tiles is 75-100 years, and they possess the following characteristics:
1. Excellent heat resistance: Natural slate tiles exhibit excellent heat resistance, neither deforming nor burning when exposed to fire; they do not undergo a chemical reaction during firing, and the surface remains largely unchanged.
2. Excellent frost resistance: After 25°C freezing cycles, the compressive strength of natural slate tiles still reaches 166.0-182.7 MPa, with a loss rate of <0.1%.
3. Excellent durability: They do not suffer frost damage or cracking under extreme summer and winter weather conditions.
4. Resistance to biological corrosion: Slate retains its original natural color even under long-term sun exposure, without fading.
5. Slate tiles are 100% natural products; the production process involves only mining and carving, requiring no additional processing and producing no chemical pollution. Because its production residues are entirely natural, slate roofing has become a sustainable alternative compared to other materials.
Slate roofing, with its natural surface and elegant, rustic style, is highly favored by architects.
